Innate Motion Signs B Corp Re-certification With Improved Score

June 22, 2017 | Femke van Loon

Innate Motion is proud to announce that we have renewed our B Corp certification, with an improved score from 80.4 points in 2015 to 96.6 points in 2017! We are excited to be part of a growing community of companies that want to use business as a force for good and contribute to making a real difference.

B Corporations are for-profit companies which have been certified by the nonprofit B Lab after meeting their rigorous standards of social and environmental performance, accountability, and transparency.

The B Corp communities grows daily, with more than 2100 Certified B Corps from 50 countries and over 130 industries working together toward one unifying goal of using business as a force for good.

Our score changes were as follows, positives indicating improvements on B Corp’s rating scale:

Total change: +16.2
Governance: + 0.8
Workers: + 0.9
Community: + 6.8
Environment: + 9.3
Customers: – 1.5

There were four main reasons behind our improvement. Firstly, assessment patterns were expanded to include office-less companies in context.

Secondly, we have redefined our view on shareholding partners by including employees as stakeholders.

Thirdly, we have refined and refocused our procedures and policies and made them accessible via an internal Wiki.

Finally, we reflected upon the formal practices of the B Corp assessment as an act of self-improvement and have used them as guidelines to become a better, more human-centric business.

We are thrilled about the positive outcome as we continue our journey with B Corp to use business as a force for good. Together we can B the Change as we craft a better world for the people we serve.
