EKOCENTER: Understanding the emerging middle class

Can you imagine how your life would change if you were able to finally break the cycle of poverty and have some extra cash in hand? For millions of people across the world, this is a reality that is happening every day. As much as it’s a heartwarming fact that so many are able to cross the poverty line, the emerging middle class remains elusive and hard to understand if we are merely to study the statistics.

When the world’s most ubiquitous beverage company came to us, they already had a clear goal of bringing safe drinking water to communities who needed it most and the technology to make it happen.

For the project to become a thriving social enterprise, they just needed help with the other equally important part – understanding the culture and real-life dreams and struggles of the people they wanted to empower.
